In 2020, the SES Solar Co-operative partnered with CNH Industrial for our biggest project to date. With 1000 panels, this was the largest urban solar installation in Saskatchewan at the time of installation. The power produced by the project goes directly into the CNH Industrial plant on 71st Street, Saskatoon where it is being used to produce farm equipment while providing about 6% of the total electricity used on site while reducing CNH Industrial’s carbon footprint.
The project is particularly innovative as it departs from the previous arrangements of net metering agreements. The CNHi project is a ‘behind the meter’ installation whereby all the electrical energy produced is used on site. There is no provision for, or possibility of, electricity being fed into the grid.
